The first meeting of Finnish Living Lab was organized by University of Oulu team on November 24th. Meeting has 13 participants representing farmers, major database and ICT stakeholders, dairy companies, slaughterhouses and beef industry, experts and administrators. Stakeholders discussed the development of animal health and welfare databases in Finland so far, databases elsewhere and the future trends and use of data by 2030. Finland has been a forerunner in establishing databases and a lot of data on animal health and welfare is collected. The main challenges are in better valorization of the data, renewal of technology and investment into further development, improvement of data analytics and graphic presentation. A prerequisite for further improvement of data exchange between the stakeholders lies in establishing a joint view on direction of development.
